Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Ava Abreu and I love to create magic across a variety of art forms.As a current Film & Theatre student at State College of Florida, my focus is in Directing & Design. I have directed & assistant directed, done costume design, hair & makeup, along with being the major producer on several of the projects I’ve completed. As a Graphic Designer, I’ve created designs from movie posters & call sheets, to sticker designs. All are posted throughout my portfolio.

"El Pinero", Short Film in Progress :

Taking place on the little-known Cuban island, Isla De La Juventud, El Pinero is a film that challenges perceptions of Cuba & its history.

”To Inform Families First,” 2026

To Inform Families First (TIFF) is a Florida-based nonprofit that advocates for the public to register their emergency contact information with Florida Highway Safety, following the tragic passing of the founder’s daughter in a fatal car accident. After establishing an emergency contact info initiative with the state of Florida, TIFF continues to branch out to several other states, with an aim to expand their reach till all 50 states have the Emergency Contact Initiative available to their residents.State College of Florida film student’s were given the opportunity to create two PSA’s for TIFF, which will have a public screening in October 2026.

In Two, 2023

Student short film created by Booker High School students as part of the Film program.
The Film Visual Performing Arts (VPA) is a rigorous 4-year program that equips students with the foundations of filmmaking, producing 3-4 short films a year.
In Two was Ava Abreu’s debut film, joining the program in her senior year. The film was screened as part of the All American High School Film Festival in 2024.

A Rock Sails By, a play by Sean Grennan, SCF Theatre, spring 2026

A astrophysicist at an esteemed university, Lynn’s world begins to blur when she is diagnosed with Dementia, simultaneous to the emergence of a mysterious object that is entering Earth’s atmosphere. Together with her daughter and an eager journalist, the trio explore the possibilities of what’s to come of this astral event, challenging Lynn’s beliefs in ways she could never have fathomed.

Story Street Project with SCF Theatre, February 2026

An improv project performed by SCF theatre students as part of an event that distributed 20 free books to over 400 families. This project highlighted the importance of reading for children, bringing to life their favorite storybook characters.
